PURSE GRABBED ON OCEAN PARKWAY NEAR CHURCH AVE.



A bicyclist stole a purse from a 98-year-old woman's lap as the wheelchair-bound woman's home attendant pushed her in a wheelchair on Ocean Parkway near Church Avenue.

The crime happened on Sunday, June 29th, at 1:00 p.m. As the biker rode past the victim and her attendant, he grabbed the purse and pedaled away.

The man In the video above, taken by a surveillance camera, is thought by the NYPD to be the thief.

Anyone who has information about this crime is asked to either

  • submit a tip by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website, or 
  • text the tip to 274637(CRIMES) and then enter TIP577.

The items in the stolen purse included a cell phone, keys, a Medicaid card, and $400 in cash.
