ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING SUSPENDED AS A SNOWSTORM HEADS OUR WAY

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Brooklyn and the rest of New York City, starting tonight at about midnight and continuing until tomorrow (Saturday) at 6:00 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Hazardous travel conditions are predicted, along with low visibility of a half-mile or less and a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Three to five inches of snow and ice might accumulate.

The New York City Department of Transportation and the Department of Sanitation have announced that alternate side parking regulations will be suspended citywide tomorrow--Saturday, January 24th--to facilitate the snow's removal.

Payment at parking meters will remain in effect throughout the city.
