TWO MARATHONS ON OCEAN PARKWAY THIS YEAR



Airbnb Brooklyn Half
Saturday, May 16th

Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon
Saturday, October 10th

Runners will get to run two half marathons (13.1094 miles) on the streets of Brooklyn this year. The first one--the Airbnb Brooklyn Half--is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th. It's under the aegis of New York Road Runners, and it's sold-out. More than 25,000 runners registered.

The second one--the newcomer--is part of the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon Series and is scheduled for Saturday, October 10th. No more than 17,500 runners will be allowed to participate.

General registration for the Rock 'n' Roll Brooklyn Half Marathon starts on Monday, March 16th. TourPass holders can register now.

The Road Runners' Airbnb Brooklyn Half will start near the Brooklyn Museum, go past the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and around Grand Army Plaza, enter Prospect Park and loop around it, exit onto Ocean Parkway, and end at the Coney Island boardwalk.

The Rock 'n' Roll half will start at Grand Army Plaza, run on Eastern Parkway, enter Prospect Park and loop around it, exit onto Ocean Parkway, continue to Avenue J, run back on Ocean Parkway to Prospect Park, and finish at the Nethermead.

From 2011 through 2013, Prospect Park was the site of the Rock 'n' Roll Brooklyn 10K.
