SHELTER CAN NOW ACCEPT MORE DONATED ITEMS

The family shelter across the street from Foodtown can now accept donations of the items that its families need the most. The items should be new or in like-new condition.

To find out which types of items are needed and the times that you can drop them off at the shelter, send an e-mail to Catherine and Tracy at givemeshelterBK @ gmail.com.

Catherine and Tracy are neighborhood residents who have been doing a beautiful job of coordinating this and other efforts to lend a helping hand to the people who are currently living in the shelter.

At Christmas, neighborhood residents prepared and served dinner to the families in the shelter. This activity will take place again on Valentine's Day. Write to Tracy and Catherine at givemeshelterBK @ gmail.com, and they'll tell you how you can help with this.

People are needed to pop popcorn for the families to enjoy during the weekly movie screenings that will start soon. Write to Catherine and Tracy at givemeshelterBK @ gmail.com for more information.

If you or someone you know has a particular skill or talent or ability to share with children and/or adults, contact Tracy and Catherine at givemeshelterBK @ gmail.com.

Financial donations are also being accepted. They're tax-deductible. Details about donating are available from Catherine and Tracy at givemeshelterBK @ gmail.com.

Help is much appreciated.
